A .vcf file is a vCard — the standard format for exchanging contacts. Every phone and address-book app (iPhone, Android, Gmail, Outlook) can export contacts as .vcf, and one file can hold many contacts. It is a text format, so it is ideal for conversion — but nothing opens it as a neat spreadsheet without a tool like this one.

Name (full, first, last, middle, prefix, suffix), nickname, organization, job title, all email addresses, all phone numbers, postal addresses, URLs, birthday, notes, and whether the contact carries a photo. Multiple emails and phones are all kept, each annotated with its label (home/work/mobile). vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 files are all understood, including quoted-printable and base64 encoded values.

Yes. The CSV is written as UTF-8 with a byte-order mark — the one variant Excel for Windows sniffs correctly on double-click — with CRLF line endings and RFC 4180 quoting. Names like Jürgen or 王小明 arrive intact.

Yes — by construction. The file is read and converted entirely by JavaScript running in your browser; it is never transmitted. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools (Network tab), load a file, and watch — no file bytes are sent anywhere. The only requests this site makes are page loads, an anonymous usage counter (counts only, never content), and license validation for paid users. Details in the privacy policy.
